Ronald L. Nester, Sr. was graduated from Martinsville High School in Martinsville, Virginia in 1965. He joined the Army that year, and he took his first trip to South Carolina arriving at Fort Jackson in Columbia for his basic training. In 1966 and 1967 he served with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star for meritorious achievement. Upon his exit from the Army in 1968 he enrolled at Patrick Henry College, an extension of the University of Virginia, where he earned an Associates Degree. In 1970 he transferred to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia where he majored in history. In 1972, Mr. Nester was graduated from the University of Virginia with Distinction, and he earned a Bachelor Degree as well as being accepted in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. The same year he was accepted into the University of Virginia School of Law where he studied constitutional, tort, civil procedure, criminal, property, commercial, and family law. Mr. Nester was graduated in 1974.
Mr. Nester has been practicing law in South Carolina since 1996. His practice focuses primarily on helping people and businesses buy and sell real estate in Orangeburg, Calhoun and Clarendon Counties, drawing wills and probate work, and legal work that does not require going to court.
Mr. Nester is married to Eve Nester, and they have five children, fourteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Mr. Nester is an Elder in the Santee Presbyterian Church, Santee, South Carolina.
