William H. Johnson

William H. Johnson

After earning a degree in accounting from Clemson University, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, William Johnson has been engaged in the practice of law since his admission to the South Carolina Bar in 1990. He initially practiced in Florence, South Carolina, with a state wide firm, where he gained experience working with some of the most well-respected attorneys in the state. In 1992, William returned home, to begin the career of helping the people of Clarendon, Sumter, and Orangeburg Counties and the surrounding areas through various types of legal problems and opportunities.

William's practice has included success in all areas one would expect from a general practitioner in a rural area. He has represented buyers and sellers in thousands of real estate closings, always taking time to be sure the needs of the client are met. He has also been successful when the needs of the client require standing firm and using our court system to advance the client's interest, having tried numerous cases to a verdict, both in front of juries and judges. He has ushered numerous families through the difficult transitions necessitated by the death of a family member, and created hundreds of estate plans to make that transition as peaceful as possible. He has assisted many clients through the difficult times that follow a catastrophic personal injury, and stood in the gap to be sure that the compensation awarded was maximized. William has counseled and assisted many clients in the formation and strategic decisions related to new and existing businesses. Finally, William lends his skills to further the interests of good government, as he serves as municipal attorney to six (6) incorporated municipalities, including all those located in Clarendon County.

William has also been active in community life. He formerly served on the Board of Trustees for Clarendon School District 2, serving one term as Chairman. A strong proponent of the Rotary creed of "Service Above Self," William has been an active Rotarian for over twenty years, serving in many capacities. William has served on the Board of the Clarendon Chamber of Commerce, and humbly serves as a member of the Session of Sardinia Presbyterian Church.

William strives to create a relationship with each client that extends beyond the attorney-client role. William considers each engagement by a client a sincere privilege and honor, and strives to deliver value that exceeds expectations.
